As part of our Thursday night social justice series, the Servant Leadership School will host a community forum on The New Jim Crow on April 26 at 7pm. The forum will be led by organizations and faith groups working against the mass incarceration of people of color and supporting those re-entering the community.
The evening will begin with a video excerpt of Michelle Alexander discussing her bestselling book The New Jim Crow: Mass Incarceration in the Age of Colorblindness. We will then hear from local leaders: Debra Rowe of Returning Citizens United; Yango Sawyer of the Jobs Not Jails Coalition; Becca Stelle of The Church of Christ, Right Now; and members of The New Jim Crow Working Group 4 Change. Come hear how you too can become a change agent!
Please see the Festival Center website for more information.
